WHHREAS, the Jamaican Independence Dance Troup perfor+ned
in the City as part of the Jamaican Independence Day
Celebration on August 7, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion 83-642 on
July 28, 1983, approved a contribution of an amount not to
exceed $2,000 to facilitate the purchase of tickets for the
presentation of "Two Can Play";
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Sect ion 1 . The al locat ion of an amount not to exceed
$2,O00 from the Continqent Fund, Special Programs and
Accounts, in support of the Jamaican Independence Dance
Troupes presentation of "Two Can Play" in the City of Miami
on August 7, 1983, is hereby ratified, approved, and
confirmed.

It is recommended that Motion No. 83-722 appropriating
and allocating an amount not to exceed $2,000 from the
Special Program and Account Contingency Fund, to facil-
itate the purchase of tickets for the "Jamaican Inde-
pendence Dance Troup" said tickets to be given to
School Children, be formally ratified and confirmed as
per attached resolution.
The City Commission approved by Motion No. 83-722 of July 28, 1983,
the allocation of an amount not to exceed $2,000 to facilitate the
purchase of tickets for the "Jamaican Independence Dance Troup",
said tickets are to be given to school children to attend the
theatre presentation "Two Can Play."
It is beneficial to the cultural and recreational image of the
City to encourage international cultural exchange to improve the
quality of life of the City residents.
Therefore, this department recommends that Motion No. 83-722 be
ratified and confirmed allocating an amount not to exceed $2,000
in order to facilitate the purchase of tickets for the "Jamaican
Independence Dance Troup."
