It is recommended that Motion No. 83-584, accepting the proposal made by the Admin- istration concerning funding for the pro- posed "Miami Film Festival", in the amount of $20,000 from the Special Programs and Accounts Contingency Fund; be formally ratified and confirmed as per the attached resolution. "The Miami Film Festival" was carefully reviewed and the recommendations made by the Administration provided for an allocation of an amount not to exceed $20,000. The Film Festival should be a showcase for Miami and bring national attention as well as possibly promote Miami as a film center. The programs planned by the film festival will be shown through- out the City. Therefore, this department recommends Motion No. 83-584 be ratified and confirmed allocating the accepted recommendations made by the Adminis- tration of an amount not to exceed $20,000, to the "Miami Film Festival", as a cash grant to this project.
