CORPORATION AT A TOTAL COST OF $13 , 395 . 62 FOR THE CONSTI:UCTION OF LUMMUS PARK AREA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PAVING PROJECT, AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN CONTRACT IN THE A,1OUNT OF $2,010.62, SAID FUNDS FOR THE INCREASE TO COME FROM FEDERAL CON111,IUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $8,112.44 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated September 27, 1982 between the City of Miami and P.N.M. Corporation for the construction of Lummus Park Area Community Development Paving Project; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed and P.N.M. Corporation has furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and material have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, more work than anticipated was required to complete the project, causing an overrun of the contract amount of $2,010.62; and WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Community Development has certified that Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds are available to cover the increase in contract amount; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Departments of Public Works and Community Development recommend that the completed work be accepted and that an increase in contract be authorized and final payment made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by P.N.M. Corporation for Lummus Park Area Community Development Paving Project at a total cost of $13,395.62 is hereby accepted. Corporation is hereby increased by $2,010.62, said funds for the increase to come from Federal Community Development Block Grant funds. Section 3. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $8,112.44 to P.N.M. Corporation as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection with the Lummus Park Area Community Development Paving Project. Cather REFERENCES Contract and Authorization Director of � P___ublic Works of Final Payment For Commission Meeting ENCLOSURES 1 ( r.� ( of September 7, 1983) The Department of Public Works recommends the adoption of a resolution accepting the completed work of P.N.M. Corporation at a total cost of $13,395.62 for the construction of Lummus Park Area Community Development Paving Project, authorizing an increase in contract of $2,010.62, said funds to come from Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds, and authorizing a final payment of $8,112.44. There exists a contract dated September 27, 1982 between the City of Miami and P.N.M. Corporation for the construction of Lummus Park Area Community Development Paving Project. The contractor has satisfactor- ily completed the work, that consisted of the replacement of broken and cracked sidewalk in the vicinity of Lummus Park, (N.W. North River Drive between N.W. 2 and 3 Streets). It was necessary to replace more sidewalk than anticipated, resulting in an overrun of the contract amount of $2,010.62. The Director of the Department of Community Development has certified that Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds are available to cover the required increase in contract, and concurs with the recommendation of the Department of Public Works that the increase be authorized.
