ENCLOSURES (For Commission Meeting
of September 7, 1983)
The Department of Public Works and the Office
of Marinas recommend the adoption of a
resolution accepting the completed work of
Florida Marine Construction, Inc., at a total
cost of $75,725 for Dinner Key - Pile
Replacement, confirming the City Manager's
authorization of an increase in contract
amount of $1190, with funds for the increase
to be provided from money already allocated
to the project, and authorizing a final
payment of $9,372.50.
There exists a contract dated February 14, 1983 between the City of
Miami and Florida Marine Construction, Inc., for the construction of
Dinner Key - Pile Replacement. The work consisted of the removal
and replacement of piling and piers at the Dinner Key Marina, located
at S. W. 27 Avenue and Biscayne Bay. The contractor has satisfactrr-i_ly
completed the work and has furnished the required documents, certify-
ing that all bills for labor and material in connection with the
project have been paid.
During the course of the work, the Director of :Marinas requested
additional work that resulted in an overrun of the contract amount
of $1190. Funds were available to cover the additional cost from
monies already allocated to the project; i.e., unused Project Expense
and Incidental Expense funds. The City Manager authorized the
increase, and the requested resolution confirms his authorization.
The Director of the Department of Public Works and the Office of
Marinas recommend that the increase in contract amount authorized by
the City Manager be confirmed, and that the completed work be
accepted and final payment authorized to the contractor.
