WIiEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received Auclust 1.1, 1983 for the furnishing; of One (1) B.A.T. Mobile Police Vehicle to the Department n t Luildinq and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 24 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1983 State of Florida Selective Traffic Enforcement Grant; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Police for the purpose of testing for blood alcohol during the processing of Driving Under Influence suspects; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from E.V.F., Inc. be accepted as the lowest respon- sible and responsive bit?; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The August 11, 1983 bid of E.V.F., Inc. for furnishing one (1) B.A.T1/Mobile Police Vehicle to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance at a total cost of $43,895.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1983 State of Florida Selective Traffic Enforcement Grant. --------------------------------- 1/ The acronym B.A.T. stands for Blood Alcohol Test. Three bids were received on August 11, 1983, on Bid #82-83-94 to supply this B.A.T. Mobile Police Unit. One of these bids failed to conform to specifications and failed to supply a bid security. The bid of E.V.F. Inc. is the lowest acceptable bid Greeting specifications. This is a new and additional unit for use in the Police Department, Selective Enforcement Section.
