S. I. KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL CENTER LANDSCAPING project, at a total cost of $800,216,91, The work consisted of two parts. One, the construction of the Miami Riverwalk along the north side of the Miami River adjacent to the Convention Center. The bid amount for this portion of the contract was $616,007.00, including a $50,000 cash allowance for special items. The cash allowance for special items was also used to cover the cost of special items of work on an adjoining project, The Miami Riverwalk - Additive Items A and B. Cather REFERENCES: CENTER LANDSCAPING Director of blic Works ENCLOSURES Memo and Resolution I am sending you a memorandum concerning the resolution for increase in contract and final acceptance on THE MIAMMI RIVERWALK .AND THE CITY OF MIAMINNIVERSITY OF MIAMI JA;MES L. KNIGHT INTERNATIONAL CENTER LANDSCAPING project that was on the July 18 Commission Agenda. You will recall that you pulled the item and returned the memorandum to us, asking for more specific information. We have rewritten the memorandum, giving more specific information, and believe it will meet with your approval. We have not rewritten the resolution and are returning the original copy of it, which has already been approved by the Deputy City Attorney and the City Attorney. The final payment to the contractor involved will amount to $30,000, and he was very disappointed to learn that the item had been removed from the agenda. He is a small contractor and will be hurt severely if his final payment is delayed until September. If at all possible we would like this item included as a pocket item for the July 28 Commission Meeting. LE '7 vh 83-'73S
