AND THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received April 3, 1983 for the furnishing of Metal Storage Shelving to the Department of Conferences and. Conventions; and WHEREAS, invitations were nailed to 31 potential suppliers and 3 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1980 City of Miami Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bond Fund; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Conferences and Conventions for the purpose of providing new equipment storage at the Miami Convention Center; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Conferences and Conventions recommend that the bid received from Adapto Steel Products be accepted as the most advantageous bid to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The April 13, 1983 bid of Adapto Steel Products for furnishing Metal Storage Shelving to the Department of Conferences and Conventions at a total cost of $9,901.92 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the 1980 City of Miami Convention Center and Parking Garage Revenue Bond Fund. The low bid of Vogler Equipment Co., Inc. for item 5pshelf dividers is not recommend- ed as dividers would not fit the low bid shelves. The low bid of Access -Allied Enterprises, Inc. for items 8 and 9, Clip - type Shelving, is not recommended because these units can only accommodate 5 shelves, while specifications required 8 shelves per unit. Adapto Steel Products submitted the lowest acceptable bid for all items, their products meet all specifications and award to this vendor is recommended.
