The Heritage Conservation Board will have four vacancies starting at the end of July. These must be scheduled for appointment. Three of the vacancies are due to the expiration of the inital one year terms: Charles Chase (restoration architect), Lola Bohn (attorney) and Norah Schaefer (citizen). The fourth vacancy has been created by the resignation of Arva Parks (historian). The City Clerk advertised for nominations to the Board in June, and a deadline for receipt of nominations was set for July 18, 1983. The Heritage Conservation Ordinance requires that persons appointed to the Board represent the various special professional training, experience, and interests required to make informed and equitable decisions concerning conservation and protection of the physical enviornment. Four persons who meet these qualifications submitted applications to the City Clerk for appointment to file vacancies on the Board. Three of these applicants are current members who have only served for one year and who have applied for reappointments. All applicants are residents of the City of Miami. It evolved that when I entered the real estate business, I would have a love for older homes, and as a result of that love, I have made it the major part of my business. I have been serv- ing on the Heritage Conservation Board for the past year, and have been active in pre- paring the area of Morningside to be considered as the first Historic Preservation area in the City. I have conducted walking tours for local high schools and have tried to fur- ther educate myself in architecture by attending classes at Dade County Jr. College. 83-8'71 .AMsir`.t-y--,c.cw. •w P'.rp-...++: 1.. :. : _ .. ., ..,{4s: i » PLEASE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IN THE SPACE PROVIDED.
