A RESOLUTION GRANTING A ONE YEAR EXTENSION OF A VARIANCE AS LISTRD IN ORDINANCE NO. 6671, ARTICLE XXIII, SECTION 4(9) TO PERMIT CONSTRUCTION OF A PROPOSED 5-STORY BUILDING (CHERNIN BUILDING) AND A NEW ENTRANCF TO THE ABLIN BUILDING, ON TRACTS "A", "B" AND "C", DOUG LAS GARDENS AMD. (110-68), ALSO DESCRIBFD AS 151 NE 52 STREFT, AS PER PLANS ON FILE, WAIVING 4a OF 226 REQUIRED OFF-STREET PARKING SPACES; ZONED R-4 (MEDIUt! DFNSITY MULTIPLE DWELLING). THIS VARIANCE IS IN CONJUNCTION WITH A CONDITIONAL USE FOR EXPANSION OF A NURSING HOME AND A CONDITIONAL USE FOR AN ACCESSORY OPEN PARKING LOT. WHEREAS, Article XXXI of Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance No. 6871 permits an extension of a variance by the City Manager with approval of the City Commission, for a one-year period; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the extension of the variance granted by Zoning Board Resolution No. ZB-58-83; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The request for a one-year extension of a variance from Ordinance No. 6871, Article XXIII, Section 4(9) to permit construction of a proposed 5-story buildinq (CHERNIN BUILDING) and a new entrance to the Ablin Building on Tracts "A", "B" and "C", DOUGLAS GARDENS AMD. (110-68), also described as 151 NE 52 Street, as per plans on file, waiving 49 of 226 required off-street parking spaces, in conjunction with a conditional use for expansion of a nursing home and a conditional use for an accessory open parking lot, zoned R-4 (Medium Density Multiple Dwelling), is granted. The Zoning Board, at its meeting of April 18, 1983, Item 9, following an advertised hearing, adopted Resolution ZB 58-83 by'a 5 to 0 vote, granting the request for a variance to permit construction of a proposed 5-story building (Cherin Building) and a new entrance to the Ablin Building on Tracts "A", "B" and "C", DOUGLAS GARDENS AMD (110-68), also described as 151 NE 52 Street, as per plans on file, waiving 49 of 226 required offstreet parking spaces; zoned R-4 (Medium Density Multiple Dwelling). This variance petition is in conjunction with conditional use applications for expansion of nursing home and an accessory parking lot. The Planning Department has no objection to the granting of the extension for this Variance. We are requesting the City Attorney's Office, by copy of this memo, to prepare the proper Resolution for this extension.
