HomeMy WebLinkAboutO-09697J-83-604- Amendment No. 1:3 to Ordinance No. 904 ORDINANCE NIf, 7 AN EMERAMY ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9534, ADOPTED 4ECEMBER 91 1982, THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDINt, SEPTEMBER 30, 1083; AS AMENDED; BY MAKING, THE NECESSARY CORRECTIONS TO THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND TO CORRECTLY REFLECT EARLIER TRANSFERS OF RESOURCES TO THE JAMES L. KNIGHT CONVENTION CENTER ENTER- PRISE FUND; AND BY DECREASING IN THE AMOUNT OF $97,100, THE CITY OF 14rAMI/6NTVERSITY OF MIAMI-JAMES L. KNIANT INTERNATIONAL CENTER AND PARKING GARAnE PROJECT AND FURTHER APPRO- PRIATING SAME AMOUNT TO ESTABLISH FLAGLER BUILDING, RENOVATION AS A CAPITAL PROJECT IN THE JAMES L. 01MI T CONVENTION CENTER ENTER- PRISE FUND; CONTAINING, A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9534 on December 9, 1982 establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of capital improvements in the City of Miami for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1983; and WHEREAS, FY 1983 appropriations for the City of Miami/University of Miami -James L. Knight International Center and Parking Garage in the amounts.of $209,000 and $4,000,000 from the Capital Improvement Fund Resources FY 1983 Florida Power and Light Franchise Revenue and Proceeds of the Interama Land Sale, respectively, have been made in the James L. Knight Convention Center Enterprise Fund for same project by Ordinance No. 9534 adopted December 9, 1982; and WHEREAS, the Finance Department has determined that the abovementioned project and corresponding resources and appropriations must be established in the Capital Improvement Fund and then transferred to the Convention Center Enterprise Fund; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami desires to be in accordance with proper and correct budgeting and,accounting procedures; and WHEREAS, the recommended changes are hereby made to the Capital Improve- ment Fund to correctly reflect the transfer of funds to the Convention Center Enterprise Fund; and WHEREAS, these modifications to the ordinance's format in no way change Us amount appropriated to the Convention Center by Ordinance No. 9534 on Oec"er 9. 1942; and WHEREAS, the City Cmission adopted Resolution No. 80-317 on April 24, 1090, authorizing the relocation of the historic Flagler (a.k.a. Butler) Building from the site of the City of Miami/University of Miami`JW*s L. Knight International Center Parking Garage to Dort Dallas Park at a total cost of $85,000, and WHEREAS, the City Comwission adopted Resolution No. 80-555 on July 94, 1980, authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract for facade restoration of the historic Flagler Building; and WHEREAS, the Flagler Building was relocated to Fort Dallas Park, architectural plans for the aforementioned facade restoration have been prepared and an acceptable low bid received; and WHEREAS, total project cost for facade restoration including project services and incidentalsis estimated at $97,100; and WHEREAS, an amount of $97,100 is available from Convention Center Revenue Bonds Interest and can be tranferred from the International Parking Garage Project to establish Flagler Building Renovation as a capital project in the James L. Knight Convention Center Enterprise Fund; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned action does not change the total amount of resources or appropriations as adopted by Ordinance No. 9534 on December 9, 1982, to the Convention Center Enterprise Fund; NOW, THEREFORE,.BE,IT ORDAINED BY THE COIMIISSION OF THE CITY OF NIANI, FLORIDA: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9534, adopted December 9, 1982, as amended, is hereby further amended in the following particulars:I "Section 1.
