HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-0962J-33-967 r RESOLUTION NO. 83-96Z A RESOLUTION ORDERING S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, AND DESIGNATING THE PROPERTY AGAINST WHICH SPECIAL AISESSMENTS SHALL BE `LADE FOR A PORTION OF THE COST THEREOF AS S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, H-4488. WHEREAS, the overall condition of the street rights -of -way of S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 and 37 Avenues and S.W. 20 Court between S.W. 16 Street and approximately 328 feet to the north have deteriorated; and WHEREAS, the deteriorated streets have parkways in poor condition due to extensive on -street parking, pavement that is narrow, in poor condition and/or out of grade and extensive drainage problems; and WHEREAS, the proposed improvements will include new asphaltic pavement, concrete curbs and/or gutters, concrete sidewalk, storm drainage facilities and landscaping; and WHEREAS, S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT , H-4488 is included in the City of Miami's Capital Improvement Program. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A local improvement described as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, shall be made under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami, as amended, located at S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 Avenue and S.W. 37 Avenue and S.W. 20 Court between S.W. 16 Street and approximately 328 feet to the north. Section 2. This improvement shall include clearing and grading, construction of asphaltic pavement, concrete curbs and/or gutters, concrete sidewalk, storm drainage facilities and landscaped areas. Section 3. This improvement shall be designated in all proceed- ings and assessments as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, and the property against which special assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof, hereunder shall be designated as CITY COMMISS`ON MEETI140 OF OCT 25 1983 RES0LU110;v No. REMARKS. W . 16 STREET HIGrIWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, RESOLUTION ORDERING REFERENCES: Cathz-r\ (For Commission Meeting of of Pub Iic Works ENCLOSURES October 13, 1983 ) The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of a resolution ordering the S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488 in the S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, H-4488. In a continuing effort to serve the residents of the City of Miami, a local improvement described as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, is being proposed as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami. This district is located at S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 and 37 Avenues. The overall condition of the street right-of-way of S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 and 37 Avenues has deteriorated. The pavement is narrow, in poor condition and/or out of grade, side parkways are in poor condition and drainage problems are extensive. All of these problems will be corrected by S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVE-MENT, H-4488. The proposed construction will include asphaltic pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbs and/or gutters, storm drainage and landscaping. S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, is included in the City of Miami's 1982-88 Capital Improvement Program. The construction of this improvement will be funded by Highway and Storm Sewer General Obligation Bond Funds. This improvement shall be designated in all proceedings and assessments as S.?J. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, and the property against which special assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof, shall be designated as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, H-4438. The overall condition of the street right-of-way of S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 and 37 Avenues has deteriorated.
