A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF E-Z-GO, DIVISION OF TEXTRON FOR FURNISHING SIXTY (60) ELECTRIC GOLF CARTS ON A LEASE BASIS FOR FORTY-EIGHT (48) MONTHS TO THE DEPART- MENT OF RECREATION AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $46,800.00;ALIOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PRIOR YEAP RESERVE FUND FOR THE FIRST YEAR; AUTFOR1.ZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS EQUIPMENT LEASE, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received September 16, 1983 for the furnishing of Sixty (60) Electric Golf Carts on a Lease Basis for Forty-eight (48) Months to the Department of Recreation; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 17 potential suppliers and 6 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Prior Year Reserve Fund for the First Year; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Recreation for the purpose of providing a rental fleet of Golf Carts at the City of Miami Country Club, Miami Springs Golf Course; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Depart- ment of Recreation recommend that the bid received from E-Z-Go, Division of Textron be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The September. 16, 1983 bid of E-Z-Go, Division of Textron for furnishing Sixty (60) Electric Golf Carts on a Lease Basis for Forty-eight (48) months to the Department of Recreation at a total proposed First Year cost of $46,800.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Prior Year Reserve Fund for the First Year. Award of Bid, Resolution, and Tabula inn It is recommended that Bid No. 82-83-107, for the leasing of sixty (60) electric golf carts, be awarded to the lowest accept- able bidder, E-Z-GO, Textron, at a yearly cost of $46,800 for forty-eight (48) months, and further, that the City Manager be authorized to execute the necessary con- tracts for implementation, as per the attached resolution. Pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received on September 16, 1983, for the leasing of sixty (60) electric golf carts for utilization as rentals, servicing the patrons at the City of Miami Country Club in Miami Springs. An evaluation committee consisting of Albert H. Howard, Director of Recreation, Paul Turcotte, Golf Course Superintendent, and Kirk Hearin, Administrative Assistant, has reviewed all bids and unanimously recom- mend the lowest bidder, E-Z-GO. Textron, at an annual cost of $46,800, for forty-eight (48) months. Subsequent to the termination of the previous Electric Cart Concessionaire, Ralph Allen, Inc., the City has been operating the rentals under a temporary leasing arrangement. Funding has been appropriated in the 1983-84 Opera- ting Budget of the Golf Course Enterprise Fund. It is, therefore, recorsnended that an award of bid be granted to b-Z-GO, Textron, ?cr the leasing of electric golf carts, as specified, and further, that the City :Manager be authorized to execute the necessary contract for its implementation.
