Ga City Manager Dena Spillman, Director Department of Community Development 7S: ATE August 24, 1983 Resolution allocating Fiscal Year 1982-83 Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to two (2) social service agencies. :E FE 4c5 Agenda item for September 7, 1983, City Commission Meeting . :-OPL;c,S It is recommended that the City Commission adopt a resolution allocating Fiscal Year 1982-83 Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to the Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. for the balance of Fiscal Year 1982-83, ending September 30, 1983. The City Commission adopted Motion No. 83-474 which expressed intent to allocate $150,000 to Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. to continue the food and safehouse programs operated by the Agency. The City Commission also adopted Motion No. 83-556, which ex- pressed intent to allocate additional funds to Action Community Center, Inc. to maintain the Program's current level of service. The amount was determined to be $10,000 for the period of one (1) year. The specific period of time to be covered by both allocations is July 1, 1983 - June 30, 1g83. These allocations will be made from Federal Revenue Sharing Funds (F.R.S.) Social Service Programs, Special Programs and Accounts. Since the F.R.S. fiscal year is from October through September, it is recommended that the allocations be prorated between Fiscal Year 1982-83 and Fiscal Year 1983-84. The City Commission will also be voting on an ordinance at the September 7, 1983 meeting which appropriates $39,161 for these programs. Pending adop- tion of the ordinance, it is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution. The Resolution formalizes (lotion No. 83-474 and Motion No. 83-556 by allocat- ing funds for the balance of F.R.S. Fiscal Year 1982-83 in the following amounts: $36,661 to Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. and $2,500 to Action Community Center, Inc. The Resolution also authorizes the City Manager to amend the agencies' Fiscal Year 1982-83 Federal Revenue Sharing agreements to include these allocations. DS:mb Enc. 53-943.
