WHEREAS, at the City Commission meeting of July 18, 1983, Resolution No. 83-658 was passed which ordered a highway improve- ment identified as EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I in EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4487; and WHEREAS, pursuant to due public notice a public hearing was held before the City Commission on October 25 , 1983, as to any objections to the confirmation of Resolution No. 83-658, which resolution ordered EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I in EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4487; and WHEREAS, no objections to the confirmation of said highway improvement were sustained by the Commission, it is therefore in order for the Commission to confirm said ordering resolution and authorize the City Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the con- struction of said improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Resolution No. 83-658 dated July 18, 1983, which ordered EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I in EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I H-4487 is hereby confirmed. (For Commission Meeting of October 13, Resolution Attached The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of a resolution confirming Ordering Resolution No. 83-658 and authorizing the Citv Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for EAST LITTLE HAVAN&% HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I in EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT - PHASE I, H-4487. EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4487, was ordered by the City Commission on July 18, 1983. It is now in order to confirm the ordering resolution and to authorize advertising for bids. A public hearing will be held by the City Commission at their meeting of October 13, 1983. At that time the Commission will hear objections to the confirmation of the ordering resolution, No. 83-658. This improvement is being proposed as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami. This district is bounded by S.W. 1 Street, S.W. 7 Street, S.W. 4 Avenue and S.W. 9 Avenue. The overall condition of the street rights of way in the eastern portion of Little Havana has deteriorated. The pavement is narrow, in poor condition and/or out of grade, side parkways are in poor condition and drainage problems are extensive. All of these problems will be corrected by EAST LITTLE HAVANA HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT - PHASE I, H-4487.
