Dear Miss Soto; AS requested and site review, the following is our scope of work and cost estimate to replace the existing Barrier Cables system at Captioned site. Currently the garage has two runs of cables at most floors, one on center column line from Grids 1 to grid 8. The length of the run is about (165'-) one hundred sixty five lineal feet. The barrier cables are anchored at the end columns, recessed and go thru intermediate supports located at every other column. There are eight intermediate supports per run. From the first floor, there are seven cables on the South bay only, none on the North bay, floors 2,3,4,and 5 have seven cables at each bay. Floor 6, has seven cables at the South bay and only six cables at North bay. Floor seven only has cables at the South Bay. The above total 83 runs of cables combined at 165 lineal feet totaling 13,695 lineal feet of cables to be replaced. The cables ends are recessed into the columns and will need to be exposed by removing the grout, in the recess, the cables contain a chuck holding the end of the cable to the column recessed surface. We will install three hold down points and cut the cables at center point of the run, or about 82 feet from each end. The proposed new strand will be %" galvanized, 270 -K. That way we avoid any vehicles parked and minimize any disruption . field Cost for the Project is: $ 74,800.00 Drawings, calculations, inspections by a registered Structural Engineer including Inspection reports. Professional design services by RH Engineering, Roberto Hernandez P.E. Office ( 305) 600-3300 Engineering Costs: $ 5,500.00 Normally the permits are not paid by the General Services, however, regular estimated cost are about 3.5% of project cost or $ 2,618.00, we will include the cost and if it is not required will credit back to the City.
