ENCLOSURES Two
It is recommended that a grant in the amount
not to exceed $1,200 be authorized to Golden
Years, Inc., in support of the Tenth Annual
Holiday Dinner for needy seniors to be held
December 3, 1983, at the Bayfront Park
Auditorium, with said funds to be utilized
for payment of rental fees of said facility
and to be allocated from Budget Reserve, as
per the attached resolution.
Mr. Don Brandon, chairman of "The Golden Years, Inc." a nonprofit
corporation active in improving the quality of life for senior
adults, has requested the waiver of rental fees for Bayfront Park
Auditorium in support of their Tenth Annual Holiday Dinner
scheduled for December 8, 1983.
The itenerary for this event includes a free dinner for over 1,000
needy seniors, along with entertainment and holiday gifts, all at
the expense of "The Golden Years, Inc."
However, this corporation cannot defray the cost of the facility
rental, which amounts to $1,200. City funds to cover this expense
are available from Budget Reserve.
In that the Department of Parks and Recreation considers this a
most worthwhile effort by members of our community, it is recom-
mended that a $1,200 grant be authorized to cover the facility
rental fees, as per the attached resolution.
