ENCLOSURES
it is recommended that the City 'Manager
be authorized to conclude payment of
$20,000 from Special Programs & Accounts
Contingency Fund to Coronado Studios for
the production of a ten (10) minute pro-
motional film of the inauguration of the
Miami Convention Center, on October 1,
1981.
On September 28, 1983, three days prior to the inauguration of the
Miami Convention Center, the Recreation Department was advised to
summarily obtain three bids for the filming of the dedication.
Because of the short time frame, the Commission was polled and ap-
proval was given to proceed. After receiving the three bids, the
Recreation staff and personnel from the Miami Convention Center
evaluated the bids and recommended the services of Coronado Studios.
Cost of filming was not to exceed $20,000.
Coronado Studios was paid $10,000 through direct payment No. 21192
to purchase sufficient film and needed supplies for production.
After completion of the film and approval of City staff, Coronado
Studios would receive their final payment of $10.000. -
It is, therefore, recommended that the total payment of $20,000 to
Coronado Studios be ratified and confirmed via the attached re-
solution.
The film will be available for viewing during the Commission meeting
if you so desire.
