HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-102783-975 ES RESOLUTION NO. -,'JJ' 1027 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF SHAFER AND MILLER, INC. FOR DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT CENTER; AND AUTHORIZING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $403,631.32 WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated February 16, 1982 in the amount of $6,880,000.40, between the City of Miami and Shafer and Miller, Inc. for the construction of Downtown Government Center Parking Facility; and WHEREAS, the contract amount was increased by $250,000 by Resolution No. 82-836 dated September 9, 1982 to a total of $7,130,000.40; and WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed at a total construction cost of $6,970,607.40 and Shafer and Miller, Inc. has furnished the required documents certifying that all bills for labor and materials have been paid in full in con- nection with the aforesaid contract; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Department of Public Works recommend that the completed work be accepted and final payment be made to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The completed work performed by Shafer and Miller, Inc. for DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT CENTER PARKING FACILITY at a total cost of $6,970,607.40 is hereby approved. Section 2. The proper officials of the City of Miami are hereby authorized to pay $403,631.32 to Shafer and Miller, Inc. as full and final payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connections with DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT CENTER PARKING FACILITY. Cather, Director REFERENCES Department of Public Works ENCLOSURES (For Commission Meeting of November 10, 1983) The Department of Public Works recommends the adoption of the resolution accepting the completed work and authorizing a final of $403,6.31.32 to Shafer and Miller, Inc. for DOWNTOWN GOVERNMENT CENTER PARKING FACILITY Shafer & Miller Inc. has satisfactorily completed all the work covered by the contract between him and the City of Miami dated February 16, 1982 for the construction of Downtown Government Center Parking Facility. The original contract amount was $6,880,000.40 but was increased by $250,000 by Resolution 82-836 dated September 9, 1982. The total construction cost is $6,970,607.40. The work was completed on time. It is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed work and authorize final payment, after all conditions are met.
