December 14-17, 1983

Members of the staff of the Department of International Trade
Promotion (DITP) contacted Mr. Ed Crovo, General Manager of
the Hyatt Regency Hotel in reference to the proposed Kenyan
Art Exhibit. Mr. Crovo agreed to house the Exhibit in the Lobby
of the Hotel, free of charge.
In regards to the costs that were presented by Mr. Bill Wynn to
the City Commission, the DITP wishes to express that the only
costs that it anticipates are those associated with the Exhibit
set up (stands, racks, etc.) The DITP will make available to
Mr. Wynn the Department's display units, therefore, contributing
to reduce the costs.
In addition, since Kenya is currently represented by a Charge
D'Affaires in Washington, an invitation might not be necessary.
This would eliminate the traveling and lodging expenses.
Members of the staff of the DITP will cooperate with Mr. Wynn to
ensure the success of this project, as it is in keeping with the
Department's objectives of aiding minority business entrepreneurs
to increase their participation in international trade.
The Department fully supports this Exhibit and will plan similar
events within the framework of our African initiative and overall
promotional strategy* We do not anticipate any financial dis-
bursement from the City to support this event.
