The Miami Police Department has already purchased these books as we
have a standing order with Metropolitan Dade County to obtain them
for our officers. This year there was an increase in cost due to an
increase in raw materials and labor needed to produce this handbook.
The Miami Police Department was required to purchase a larger amount
of handbooks due to our new Auxiliary Police,'Public Service Aides,
and Police Officers.
We respectfully request that you approve the purchase of these 1,250
books @$4.65 each, making a total of $5,812.00 as shown in purchase
requisition #31957, which is attached as being sole source purchase.
