HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-83-1106J-33-10i4 f of RESOLUTION NO. 83 ILIOG A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE LAND AND WATER CON- SERVATION FUND PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $352,800 FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF JOSE MARTI PARK PHASE II; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE APPROPRIATE AGREEMENT IMPLEMENTING SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the Department of Parks has applied for grant funds in the amount of $352,800 from the Land and Water Conser- vation Fund Program; and WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of the Interior, has approved the City of Miami's application for funds in the amount of $352,800 for the devclopment of Jose Marti Park Phase II; and WHEREAS, this grant and the City of Miami's matching share of $500,000 will provide $852,800 for the development of Jose Marti Park Phase II, scheduled to begi--i in 1983; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami has been designated eligible to be a recipient of these funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to accept grant funds from the Land and Water Conservation Fund Program in the amount of $352,800 for the development of Jose Marti Park Phase II. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior to implement this project. PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 8th DAY OF December , 1983 Maurice A. City Commission Meeting "It is recommended that the City Manager be authorized to accept $352,800 in Land and Water Conservation Fund monies from the U.S. Department of the Inte- rior for the development of Jose Marti Park Phase II and to execute the appropriate agreement to implement this project, per the attached Resolution."
