A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING TIIE BID OF WIEATHERTROL MAINTENANCE CORPORATION FOR FURNISHING AIR CONDITIONING CHILLER SYSTEM MAINTENANCE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING ON A CONTRACT BASIS FOR ONE (1). YEAR RENEWABLE ANNUALLY TO TIIE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AT A TOTAL PROPOSED FIRST YEAR COST OF $4,680.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE 1983--84 OPERATING BUDGET OF THAT DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR THIS SERVICE, SUBJECT TO THE AVAIL- ABILITY OF FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received March 5, 1984 for the furnishing of Air Conditioning Chiller System Maintenance Services at the Administration Building on a Contract Basis, renewable annually,to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 36 potential suppliers and 5 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the 1983-84 Operating Budget of that Department; and WHEREAS, this service will be used by the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of providing preventative maintenance and repairs to assure the uninterrupted operation of the Administration Building Chiller System; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the bid received from Weathertrol Maintenance Corporation be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The March 5, 1984 bid. of Weathertrol Main- tenance Corporation for furnishing Air Conditioning Chiller System Maintenance at the Administration Building, on a Contract Basis renewable annually, to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance at a total proposed first year cost of $4,680.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated CITY C.'OMMISSIOD Ml TMIIG OF Al 190 4 0 3 from the 1983-84 Operating Budget of that Department. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to instruct the Purchasing Agent to issue Purchase Orders for this service, subject to the availability of funds, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of April 1984. Cox, Direct REFERENCES: Bid #83-84-39 Building & Vehicle Maintenance ENCLOSURES: Bid Award Recommendation THE DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE REQUESTS THAT A RESOLUTION BF PASSED ACCEPTING THE LOWEST RESPONSIBLE AND RESPONSIVE BID FROM WEATHER- TROL MAINTENANCE CORPORATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE A. C. CHILLER SYSTEM AT THE ADMINISTRATION BUILD- ING AT A TOTAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $4,680, A total of five (5) bids were received in response to I?id 1183-84-39 for maintenance of the A. C. Chiller System at the Administration Building. After detailed analysis of these bide, it was de.i:.er.rnined that the lowest bid received did not fully meet specifications. Therefore, a second low bid received from bieathertrol Maintenance Corporation is being recommended as the lowest responsible and responsive. The ewarding of this bid for required chiller service at the Administration Buildina will insure that full maintenance service will be available when needed. This should re- sult in the proper and continuous operation of the A. C. Chiller System at this location. The recommended second low bidder meets all specifications and funds for the award are available in the Fiscal Year 1983-84 operating budget of this Department. 84-444.
