FOR FURNISHING ONE (1) CRIME LAB COMPARISON PROJECTOR AND ACCESSORIES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF POLICE AT A TOTAL COST OF $7,039.00; ALLOCATING FUNDS THEREFOR FROM THE PRIOR YEAR RESERVE FUND; AUTIiORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR THIS EQUIPMENT. WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were received August 22, 1983 for the furnishing of one Complete Crime Lab Comparison Projector and Accessories to the Department of Police; and WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 38 potential suppliers and 5 bids were received; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the Prior Year Reserve Fund; and I-,WEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department of Police for the purpose of replacing worn equipment too costly to repair; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Police recommend that the bid received from Kennedy and Kennedy, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The August 22, 1983 bid of Kennedy and Kennedy, Inc. for furnishing One (1) Crime Lab Comparison Projector and Accessories to the Department of Police at a total cost of $7,039.00 is hereby accepted with funds therefor hereby allocated from the Prior Year Reserve Fund. %;tt-r c;u"43A7ISSION NTEETINC OF Section 2. Gary DATE: MAR 2 p 1984 FlIF, City Manager _ SUBJECT: Recommendation for Resolution and Award of Bid No. 82-83-105 /•G�ti� Crime Lab Comparison Projector FROM: Herbert Breslow REFERENCES: Chief of Police ENCLOSURES: Award of Bid, Tabulation and Resolution It is recommended that the award be made and a Resolution be passed accepting the most advantageous bid as received from Kennedy and Kennedy, Inc. for furnishing one (1) Crime Lab Comparison Projector for the Department of Police Crimi- nal Identification Unit - Crime Lab at a total co"t. of $7,03900 Pursuant to public notice, ;.,ealed bids were received on August 22, 1983, for furnishing one (1) Crime Lab Comparison Projector_ to the Department of Police. This is a regular purchase of new equipment replacing the present Crime Lab Comparison Projector in the Department of Police Criminal Identification Crime L..a Unit. The present projector is no longer useful due to age and repairs would be too costly. Funds are available from the FY 1982-83 General Fund Budget. 84-43t 1.
