PASSED AND ADOPTED this 15th may of ATTEST: December Maurice A. Ferre MAURICE A. FERRE, MAYOR . 1983. CITY COMMISSION MLL'TINC OF 9 is C 15 1983 - 2 - n3-116S CITY OF MIAMI. FLORIDA INTER-OFrtcr_ MEMORANDUM Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission • r :• Howard V. Gary 1 City Manager f 4 J ATE Final Audit SUSii,` Frank J . Rooney Convention Center P[T! aE14,:LS r(L E Because of the complexities of this project and the many increases in scope of work, it was felt that it was in the best interest of the City to perform a detailed audit of Frank J. Rooney's books. In June 1983, this item was presented to the City Commission and a contract was authorized between the City and E. P. Iaconis in the amount of $45,000. It was anticipated at that time that this amount would have been sufficient. However, because of delays by Rooney, the complexity of the project requiring numerous negotiations, it was necessary for the auditor to spend many more hours than was originally estimated. Because I felt it was necessary to keep this going, I authorized Mr. Iaconis to proceed and recognized that I would have to ask the Commission subsequently for ratification of this action. Although I cannot give the Commission a final figure as to the savings to the City as a result of Mr. Iaconis' work, I can report that he will more than pay his fee. cc: Vincent E.
