A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NO TO
EXCEED $5, 000 FROM 5111 C I At_ PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT FUND, AS A
CONTRIBUTION IN CONNECTION WITH THE
PARTICIPATION OF 12 MINORITY FIRMS FROM
THE GREATER MIAMI AREA AT THE PERUVIAN
TRADE FAIR HELD NOVEMBER 16 THROUGH 27,
1983; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT,
SUBSTANTIALLY IN THE IORM ATTACHED, W]TH
THE NATIONAL ECONOMIC OEVELOPMENI
ASSOCIATION (N.E.D.A.) IN CONNECTION WITH
SAID TRADE FAIR.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No. 83-992 on
October 27, 1983, authorized the allocation of a sum not. to
exceed $5,000 as a c a n t r i 1) u t i o n in connection with the
participation of 12 minority firms, six of which are Black
and six of which are Latin owned or operated, from the
Greater Miami area at the Peruvian Trade Fair;
NOW, THEREFORE, RE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $5,000 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent
Fund, as a contribution in connection with participation of
12 minority firms from the Greater Miami area at the Peruvian
Trade Fair held November 16 through 27, 1983.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute an agreement, in substantially the form attached,
with the National Economic Development Association (N.E.D.A.)
in connection with said Trade Fair.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19thday of January , 1984.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT THE ATTACHED
RESOLUTION BE PASSED AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ALLOCATE AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED $5,000. FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS
AND ACCOUNTS -CONTINGENT FUND AS A
CONTRIBUTION TO THE NATIONAL ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (N.E.D.A.) IN
CONNECTION WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF
TWELVE MINORITY BUSINESSES FROM THE
MIAMI AREA IN A CATALOGUE SHOW AT LIMA,
PERU INTERNATIONAL FAIR. OF THE PACIFIC.
On October 27, 1983, pursuant to Motion No.83-992, the City
Commission approved a request for funding in the amount of $5,000.
to the National Economic Development Association (N.E.D.A), to
cover participation costs of twelve minority firms from the Miami
area, in the International Fair of the Pacific, Lima, Peru. As a
result of N.E.D.A.'s participation in this event, from November 16
to the 27, 1983, a total of 125 trade leads were generated for the
twelve minority firms that were sponsored by the City, under the
terms and conditions of Motion No.83-992. The proposed Resolution will
authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement for the above
mentioned purpose.
It is recommended that this proposed Resolution be placed on the
Agenda for the City Commission meeting of January 12, 1984.
City requirements have been met.
