HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-0130J - 8 4 - 8 6 1/25/84 r r / D - 6 M84-20 (1/19/84) RCSOLIJT ION NO. 4t-1 30 A RE50LUIION DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE CITY COMMISSION THAT FROM THIS DAY FORWARD NO CARNIVALS, FAIRS OR SIMILAR TYPE EVENTS WILL BE PERMITFEU IN THE CITY OF MIAMI EITHER ON CITY -OWNED PROPERTY, CITY -OWNED LAND, OR 11131VATELY-OWNED PROPERTY ON DAYS OTHER THAN F RI1)AY5, SATURDAYS OR SUNDAYS, AND THAT CONSIDERATION BE GIVEN TO THE WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI WITHIN A ONE-HALF MILE RADIUS FOR THE CONDUCT OF APPROVED CARNIVALS ON THE AFOREMENTIONED DAYS; FURTHER DECLARING THE POLICY OF THE CITY COMMISSION THAT FROM THIS DAY FORWARD ALL CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE EITHER AT WATSON ISLAND, VIRGINIA KEY OR THE PARKING LOT AREA OF THE MIAMI MARINE STADIUM. BE If RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, F L 0 R I D A : Section 1. It is the intent of the City Commission that from this day forward no carnivals, fairs or similar type events will be permitted in the City of Miami either on City -owned property, City -owned land, or privately -owned property on days other than Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays and that consideration be given to the welfare of the residents of the City of Miami within a one-half ;rile radius for the conduct of approved carnivals on the aforementioned days. Section 2. It is the policy of the City Commission that from this day forward all carnival activities take place either at Watson Island, Virginia Key or the parking lot area of the Miami Marine Stadium.
