ADOPTED DECEMBER 9, 19821 THE EXISTING CAPITAL #—
IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED,
BY INCREASING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SWIMMING POOL

RENOVATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $250000 FROM A CON
TRIBUTION FROM THE DEBT SERVICE FUND IN THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT FUND; CONTAINING A REPEALER PROVISION
AND A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE,°
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9534 on Decembers 99 1982,u#
establishing resources and appropriations for the implementation of capital,x
improvements in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the•City of Miami adopted Ordinance No. 9774 on January 19, 1984,
authorizing the transfer of Special Orange Bowl Debt Fund ($439946) and.Incine+-
rator. Debt Service Fund ($3960946) into the Capital Improvement Program; and
_WHEREAS, the existing conditions of the City's nine (9) swimming pools
mandate immediate repairs in order to open said facilities to the general,public
by -the forthcoming seasonal dates beginning March 310 1984; and
WHEREAS, funds for this necessary swimming pool repair project are available_

from the -above mentioned debt service fund contribution to the capital improvement '3
program and may be appropriated;

it is recommended that Ordinance No.9534,
the Capital Improvement Program, as amen-=
coed, befurther amended, by increasing a
appropriations for .Swimming Pool Renova-
tions (350054) in the amount of $250,000
_E from Contributions from the Debt Service
—� Fund in the Capital Improvement Program,
as per the attached Ordinance.
Various City departments have evaluated 'the current condition of
the City's swimming pools and have determined the facilities to
be in immediate need of repair prior to their forthcoming scheduled`
seasonal dates. These repairs may be initiated as prioritized in AMN
the attached reference memorandum by increasing the appropriations
_ for Swimming Pool Renovations in the amount of $250,000 in the

. Capital Improvements Ordinance. ;
It is, therefore, recommended that the required funding be appro-
priated via an amendment to the Capital Improvement .Appropriations
Ordinance, increasing appropriations for Swimming Pool Renovations
a ' (350054) in the amount of $250, 000 from contributions from the
-Debt Service Fund. Previously adopted Ordinance No. 9774, dated.
January 19, 1984, transferred some $83b,892', from the Special Orange
Bowl and Incinerator Debt Service Funds into the Capital improve- F"
merit Program'. thus making these monies available for appropriation.
