AN`EARGENCY ORDINA14CE AMENDING ORDINANCE
NO, 9534, ADOPTED DECEMBER 90 1982, THE
EktStING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS APPROPRIATIONS
ORDINANCE; AS AMENDED; BY DELETING WEST END
STORM SEWERS -PHASE It CAPITAL PROJECT IN AN
AMOUNT OF $600,000 IN THE 1970 AND 1978 STORM
SEWER GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FUND; AND BY
ESTABLISHING LEJEUNE STORM SEWER PUMP STATION
IN AN AMOUNT OF $1509000 AND FLACLER STORM
SEWER MODIFICATIONS IN AN AMOUNT OF $200000
AS NEW PROJECTS IN THE 1970 AND 1978 STORM
SEWER GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FUND; CONTAIN-
ING A REPEALER PROVISION AND A SEVERABILITY
CLAUSE,
WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Ordinance No. 9534 on
December 9, 1982, establishing resources and appropriations for
the implementation of certain capital improvements in the City
of Miami; and

WHEREAS, $600,000 has been appropriated in said ordinance
for implementation of the West End Storm Sewer Project (301064); and
"WHEREAS, a study by the Department of Public Works has con-
cluded that said project should be cancelled and deleted from
said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, a study by the Department of Public Works has con-

chided that a storm sewer pump station is needed to service an area
,.
known as the LeJeune Storm Sewer District; and

WHEREAS, a photogrammetric survey with contour lines of the
i
Flagami area will be an integral part of'the design of this pump'
station and storm sewer district; and
WHEREAS, the most advantageous time to conduct said photo
grammetric survey is during the first four calendar months of the,.;,
'
year;.,and
.
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Dade County is scheduled to award a-

contract for construction of the rebuilding of West Flagler Street
between West 42 Avenue and West 72 Avenue; and-;

Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 9534, adopted December 9,-

It is recommended that the attached Amendment r
to.Capital Improvement Appropriations
- Ordinance No. 9534, adopted December 9, 1982,
as amended, be approved to delete an amount
of $600•,000 from the Storm Sewer General
Obligation Bond Fund for the. -Nest End Storm '
Sewer Project -Phase II; and to appropriate
amounts of $150,000 for the design of the
LeJeune Storm Sewer Pump Station, and
$200,•000 for the construction -of the Flagler e
Storm Sewer Modifications from the Storm
Sewer General Obligation Bond Fund.

We -are requesting that Capital Improvement Appropriations
Ordinance No. 9534 be amended to delete $600,000- from the
Storm. Sewer . G. O. Bond Fund for implementation of the West :5
End Storm Sewer Pro j ect - Phase II. This Department has :
completed a study of the area and concludes that the project
is not needed at this time.

Due to time constraints on good weather flying times and the
fact that Dade county will be awarding a contract for the:
.,WestFlagler Street highway project in July, 1984we
recommend that this ordinance go into effect immediately
upon its passage by a vote of at least four -fifths of the,
members of the Commission.
