HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-0184J=84-109 2/9/84 tt/D-6 M84=119 M84-120 1/26/84 RESOLUTION NO. 84-1s'14 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $241,013 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, CONTINGENT, FUND, TO EIGHT (8) PREVIOUSLY APPROVED SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES LISTED HEREIN FOR THE PERIOD FROM FEBRUARY 1, 1984 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 19846, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED AGENCIES. WHEREAS, the City Commission has indicated its intent to support certain social service programs providing service to residents of the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, the City Commission adopted Resolution Nos. 83-8759 83-8959 83-1085 and 83-1170, which provided $369,020 of Federal Revenue Sharing Funds to certain social service agencies to cover the period October 19 1983 through January 31, 1984; and WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion Nos. 84-119 and 84-120 on January 26, 1984, has earlier expressed its intent to provide funds to social service agencies to continue projects previously funded with Federal Revenue Sharing Funds; and WHEREAS, an allocation of $157,540 is needed to fund these earlier approved agencies for the period February 1, 1984 through September 30, 1984; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has this date reviewed and approved additonal social service agencies; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 8Y THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAM19 FLORIDA: Section 1. $2419013 of General Funds, Special Programs and Accounts, Contingent Fund, are hereby allocated for the period February 1, 1964 through September 30, 19840 so specified below; CITY CQMMIS$IW- X-EIETINO OF FED 0 .1064 Agency_/project Amount St, Alban's Day Nursery, Inc. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with the aforementioned agencies to implement their respective social service programs, subject to the conditions and limitations contained therein. These agencies were previously funded with FY 1983-84 Federal Revenue Sharing (F.R.S.) funds through January 31, 1984. F.R.S. funds were not available to continue the projects operated by these agencies through September 30, 1984. The agencies, projects and recommended funding levels are as follows: St. Alban's Day Nursery, Inc. Coconut Grove Family Day Care Program $ 44,560 Aspira of Florida, Inc. Armonia Project 49,730 Catholic Community Services Centro Mater Child Care Program 16,666 Belafonte Tacolcy Sports Development Program 12,388 Youth Vocational Program 23,696 Industrial Home for the Blind Rehabilitation, Education and Recreation for the Blind 10,500 Total $1579540 The attached Resolution formalizes Motion Nos, 84-119 and 84-120. The allocation will be made from Special Programs and Accounts; Contingency Fund. am
