Gary TO City Manager Miami Film Festival SUBJECT: 15 Carl Kern REFERENCES: March 8, 1984, City = FROM Acting Director Commission Meetinc_t = Department of Parks ENCLOSURES: (1) and Recreation - - IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT AN ALLOCATION IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $5,100.00 BE APPROVED FROM THE SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, FOR THE MIAMI FILM FESTIVAL, REPRE- SENTING THE RENTAL FEE FOR THE GUSMAN - HALL CULTURAL CENTER FOR SIX (6) DAYS, _ FEBRUARY 3-12, 1984. The City Commission, by Motion 84-38 on January 19, 1984, allocated an amount not to exceed $5,10U.00, representing the rental fee for use of the Gusman Hall Cultural Center for six (6) days of perfor- mances during the month of February in connection with the Miami Film Festival. The Miami Film Festival, co -sponsored by the University of Miami, is a noteworthy event of international caliber that will greatly enhance tourism as well as the cultural profile of Miami. The Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that the enclosed resolution, allocating funding of $5,100.00 to the Miami Film Fes- tival, be approved in accordance with Motion 84-38. -AAY,`/mg 84-31-0
