IN THE PROPOSED AMOUNT OF $158,000, BASE BID OF THE PROPOSAL, FOR MIAMI STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF; WITH MONIES THEREFOR ALLOCATED FROM THE "MIA11I STADIUM CONCERT STAGE" ACCOU14T IN THE AMOUNT OF $158,000 TO COVER THE CONTRACT • COST; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $14,220 TO COVER THE COST OF PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE AMOUNT OF $3,160 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH • ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND POSTAGE: AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS WHEREAS, sealed bids were received January 18, 1984 for MIA14I STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF; WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the Department of Public Works recommend that the bid received from L & F Properties, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid; WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation Ordinance No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies have been allocated for the proposed amount of the contract, project expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Miami Stadium Concert Stage", as set forth under Section IX, Item C.ii.l, of said ordinance; 14OW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C0124ISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The January 18, 1984 bid of L & F Properties, Inc. in the proposed amount of amount of $158,000, for the project entitled MIAMI STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF, for the base bid of the proposal based on lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein. Section 2. The amount of $158,000 is hereby allocated from the account entitled "Miami Stadium Concert Stage" to cover the cost of said contract. Section 3. The additional amount of $3,160 is hereby allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of The City of Miami with L & F Properties, Inc. for MIA11I STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF, base bid of the proposal, subject to the availability of funds. Cather Director of Pu lic Works REFERENCES: (For Commission Meeting of March 8, 1984) ENCLOSURES: The Department of Public Works has determined a low bidder for the MIAMI STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF. The proposed attached resolution accepts the bid received January 18, 1984 of L & F Properties, Inc. in the amount of $158,000, and authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract on behalf of the City. Bids were received January 18, 1984 for MIAMI STADIUM - CONCERT STAGE ROOF. As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $158,000 bid of L & F Properties, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid for the base bid of the proposal. Funds have been allocated under the "Miami Stadium - Concert Stage" account, and monies are available for the estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, for such items as advertising, testing laboratories, and postage. Eleven contractors picked up plans and specifications; 2 contractors submitted bids, of which one was a Hispanic minority contractor. The engineer's estimate was $100,000.
