A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF
CERTAIN STREETS SURROUNDING THE ORANGE
BOWL IN CONNECTION WITH CUBAN MUNICI-
PALITIES IN EXILE CARNIVAL TO BE HELD
APRIL 5, 6, 7 AND 8, 1984; AND GRANT-
ING A DISPENSATION FOR THE SALE OF
BEER IN SOFT CONTAINERS FOR THE DURA-
TION OF SAID FOUR DAY CARNIVAL.
WHEREAS, the Cuban Municipalities in Exile is a worthy
community association which has rendered valuable services to the
Cuban community; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission approved Motion No. 84-17 on
January 19, 1984 authorizing this event to take place on April 5,
6, 7 and 8, 1984 at the Orange Bowl parking lots.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The following streets will be closed to traffic
from 7 a.m. to midnight on April 5, 6, 7 and 8, 1984:
6th Street N.W. between 14 and 15 Avenues
15th Avenue N.W. between 6 and 7 Streets
Section 2. The Cuban Municipalities in Exile are granted a
dispensation in order to allow the sale of beer in soft containers
only on April 5, 6, 7 and 8, 1984 at the booths located in the
Orange Bowl's parking lots W3, N2, N3 and the North End of parking
lot N1.
Section 3. The herein approved closure of streets and dis-
pensation for the sale of beer are conditioned upon compliance with
the City Administrative Policy Manual 1-84 dated January 24, 1984.

"It is recommended that the closure of
certain streets surrounding the Orange
Bowl be approved on April 5, 6, 7 and
8, 1984 in connection with the Cuban
Municipalities in Exile four day carni-
val as well as a dispensation for the
sale of beer in soft containers for the
duration of the event."
The City Commission by Motion No. 84-17 on January 19, 1984
approved the staging of the Carnival Fair by the Cuban Municipalities
in Exile at the Orange Bowl parking lots.
After consulting with the Police Department this department recom-
mends that the following streets be closed to traffic from 7 a.m. to
midnight on April 5 through 8, 1984.
6th Street N.W. between 14 and 15 Avenues
15th Avenue between 6 and 7 Streets
We also recommend that a dispensation for the sale of beer, in soft
containers, be granted in connection with this event during April 5,
6, 7 and 8.
