Gary City Manager 4110el FROM: Carl Kern, Acting Director Department of Parks and Recreation DATE. February 22, 1984 FILE: SUBJECT: Resolution Amending the Agreement with C.S. Rittenhouse for Umpire Services REFERENCES: March 8, 1984 City Commission Meeting ENCLOSURES: One "It is recommended that the City Manager be authorized to execute Supplemental Agreement #1, subject to the approval by the City Attorney as to form and correct- ness, with C.S. Rittenhouse, for profes- sional services within the original scope of services but unforeseen at the time of the original agreement, related to the adult softball leagues with compensation for said additional services amounting to $2,025, using funds available in the Recreation Activities Special Revenue Fund, per the attached resolution." In July, 1983, the City entered into a Professional Services Agreement with C.S. Rittenhouse to provide umpires and score- keepers for the adult softball leagues at Grapeland, Peacock and Shenandoah Parks. The services were to be provided for games played between July 13 and December 31, 1983, at a cost of $4,500, with funding from the Recreation Activities Special Revenue Fund. The monies were made available from fees paid by the league participants. The amendment will extend the period of the agreement to February 29, 1984, and increase the fees by $2,025 to allow for the umpire and scorekeeper services which were provided for games played after December 31, 1983. This $2,025 increase will raise the contract to a total of $6,525. The Department of Parks and Recreation recommends that the attached resolution be approved, authorizing the execution of the amendment for $2,025, with funds from the Recreation Activities Special Revenue Fund made available by fees paid by the league participants.
