N: ^-2 A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ORDERING RESOLUTION NO. 83-962 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERT ISE FOR SEALED BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT IN S. W. 16 HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 11-4488. WHEREAS, at the City Commission 1-1eetin9 of October 25, 1983, Resolution No. 83-962 was passed which ordered a highway improvement identified as S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT in S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4488; and WHEREAS, pursuant to due public notice public hearings were held before the City Commission on January 19, 1984, February 9, 1984 and March 8, 1984, as to any objections to the confirmation of Resolution No. 83-962, which resolution ordered S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT in S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4488; and WHEREAS, no objections to the confirmation of said highway improvement were sustained by the Commission, it is therefore in order for the Commission to confirm said ordering resolution and authorize the City Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for the construction of said improvement; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Resolution No. 83-962 dated October 25, 1983, which ordered S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT in S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4488, is hereby confirmed. Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for sealed bids for the construction of S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT in S. W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4488. ' Lather Director of Public Works DATE: December 14, 1983 FILE: SUBJECT S-W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488, Resolution Confirming Ordering Resolution REFERENCES: (For Commission Meeting of ENCLOSURES: January 12, 198 4) The Department of Public Works recommends adoption of a resolution confirming Order- ing Resolution No. 83-962 and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for sealed bids for S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488 in S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, H-4488. S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488 was ordered by the City Commission on October 25, 1983. It is now in order to confirm the ordering resolution and to authorize advertising for bids. A public hearing will be held by the City Commission at their meeting of January 12, 1984. At that time the Commission will hear objections to the confirmation of the Ordering Resolution No. 83-962. This improvement is being proposed as an assessable improvement under Section 56 of the Charter of the City of Miami. This district is located at S.W. 16 Street between S.W. 17 and 37 Avenues, and S.W. 20 Court between S.W. 16'Street and 328 feet north. The overall condition of the street rights -of -way of S.W. 16 Street and S.W. 20 Court have deteriorated. The pavement is narrow, in poor condition and/or out of grade, side parkways are in poor condi- tion and drainage problems are extensive. All of these problems will be corrected by S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488. The proposed construction will include asphaltic pavement, concrete sidewalk, concrete curbs and/or gutters, storm drainage and landscaping. Property owners on S.W. 20 Court have petitioned the City for the inclusion of S.W. 20 Court in the S.W. 16 Street Highway Improvement. Page 1 of 2 84-25Q 1 Howard V. Gary December L4, 1983 Some sanitary sewer replacement will be necessary before construc- tion can begin on S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488. The sanitary sewer project, entitled CITY WIDE SANITARY SEWER IMPROVE- MENT - S.W. 16 STREET, B-5499, is also scheduled to be confirmed at the January 12, 1984 Commission Meeting. S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT, H-4488 is included in the City of Miami's 1982-1988 Capital Improvement Program. The construc- tion of this improvement will be funded by Highway and Storm Sewer General obligation Bond Funds. This improvement shall be designated in all proceedings and assessments as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMNET, H-4488 and the property against which special assessments shall be made for a portion of the cost thereof shall be designated as S.W. 16 STREET HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, H-4488.
