Super_ Bowl Bid -11_E: °tEFc�Fr,c�; Commission Action - 4/05/84 Suggested New Super Bowl Acquisition Committee Discussion of a City Miami's Bid for the Super Bowl in 1987, 1988 or 1989, is item G on the City Commission Agenda of Thursday, April 5, 1984. This item was on the City Commission Agenda of Thursday, Marcia 8, 1984, but was not discussed. Since time was of the essence, I directed my staff to prepare the attached list of names for your consideration as members of the new Super Bowl Acquisition Committee. If you approve, Mrs. Sue M. Cobb, who served on the previous committee as chairperson, has agreed to serve in this capacity on the new Super Boy- l Committee. I highly recommend Mrs. Cobb, I have requested that Iir. `Pony Pajares, Director of the Convention Bureau and Mr. 11alter Golby, Stadiums Administrator, attend the National Football League's Super Bowl orientation meeting in San Francisco on April 12th and 13th, 1984. Gary 1/, REfEAENCES City Manager i ENCLOSURES: Discussion of a City of Miami's Bid for the Super Bowl in 1987, 1988 or 1989 was on the City Commission Agenda of Thursday, March 8, 1984. Because of other items of major importance this agenda item was not discussed by the Commission at that meeting. The time and place outlined by the National Football League for orientation meetings will be in San Francisco, April 12 and 13. The Super Bowl site awards will be made in Chicago, May 22 - 24. Time being of the essence my staff will prepare a _list of names, for consideration by the Mayor and City Commis- sion, to serve on the new Super Bowl Committee. The Convention Bureau has begun preparing information concerning hotel accommodations for the different years outlined by the N.F.L.
