A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A ONE -DAY PERMIT TO SELL 13EER FOR THE JAPANESE LANGUAGE SCHOOL IN CONNECTION WITH THE JAPANESE SPRING FESTIVAL TO BE, BELL) ON IPRIL 29, 1984 AT THE JAPANESE GARDENS. IMEREAS, it is desirable to restore the Japanese Gardens; and WHEREAS, the Japanese Language School_ in conjunction with the Japanese American Society and the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department will hold a Japanese Spring Festival on April 29, 1984 at the Japanese Gardens; and WHEREAS, the proceeds from said festival are to be donated to the restoration of the Japanese Gardens; and WHEREAS, the Japanese Language School has requested a one -day permit to sell beer at said Festival; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. A one -day permit to sell beer is hereby granted to the Japanese Language School in connection with the Japanese Spring Festival to be held on April. 29, 1984 at the Japanese Gardens. ENCLOSURES: One It is recommended that a one -day permit for the sale of beer be granted the Japanese Language School in connection with the Japanese Spring Festival to be held April 29, 1984 at the Japanese Gardens, per the attached resolution. The Japanese Language School in conjunction V"ith the Japanese American Society %,.,ill hold a Spring celebration on Sunday, April 29, 1984, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, at the V%'atson Island Park, Japanese Gardens. The celebration a:i l 7. include Japanese arts, crafts, liood c;:hibits, and performing groups as 4:e11. as a martial arts demonstrat:I.on, l';1t.h the intention of raising funds for, the renovation of the J r .r,r :,c Gardens. The school has requestel; authorization to secure a one --day permit to sell beer in the park, during the hours of the Festiva--. This department welcomes such citizen concern and interest in support- ing public facilities and will render departmental in -kind services, supervision and coordination for the Japanese Spring Festival. Mrs. Agnes Youngblood, Principal of the Japanese Language School will attend the April 5 City Commission meeting to answer any questions which may arise regarding the Festival. SLM/mf 84-402
