HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-0379J-84-340 4/5/84 rr/D-6 M84-333 3/29/84 RESOLUTION NO. 84--3 9 A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING A SUM NOT TO EXCEED $5,490 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, TO THE COACHES OF THE MIAMI ('MARTIAL ARTS CONGRESS IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THE TRANSPORTATION OF KARATE STUDENTS TO THE CARACAS INTERNATIONAL KARATE TOURNAMENT AS OFFICIAL REPRESENTATIVES OF THE CITY OF MIAMI; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-84, DATED JANUARY 24, 1984. WHEREAS, on March 29, 1984, the City Commission passed Motion 84-333 authorizing a contribution not to exceed $5,490 to the Miami. Martial Arts Congress in order to facilitate the transportation of Karate students to Venezuela as official representatives of the City of Miami_ in the Caracas International Karate Tournament to be held April 7 and 8, 1984; and WHEREAS, the Miami Martial Arts Congress consists of members of the community who have a common interest in the preservation and promotion of the martial arts (i.e., Karate), as a wholesome endeavor benefitting the community at large by reason of its discipline; and WHEREAS, the above community members have selected Jose Anon, Manuel Reyes, and Manny Saavedra as coaches of the teams representing said Congress and the City of Miami; and WHEREAS, said coaches have agreed to be responsible to the City and accountable for the activities of the teams in the upcoming Caracas International Karate Tournament; NOW, THEREFORE, 13L IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1964. Section 3. Payment of any amount authorized herein shall be made by way of reimbursement upon the conclusion of the event and upon due presentation of paid bills and receipts.
