The City has received a request from the Gibson Development
Company, Inc., a firm intending to submit a proposal for the
development of Watson Island in response to the City's
Request for Proposals to extend the deadline for submission.
Their letter is attached.
Other parties who have indicated the intention to submit
proposals have been polled and several have indicated that
it would also be advantageous to them to have the deadline
extended in order to better prepare proposals.
We therefore are recommending extending the deadline from
May 7, 1984 to November 12, 1984.

Mr. Howard V. Gary
City Manager
City of Miami
3500 Pan American Drive
Miami FL 33233-0708
Dear Mr, Gary°:
This letter is being written regarding your recent Request for
Proposals pertaining to the Watson Island development. I was
one of the attendees at the March 12th pre -proposal developers
conference, and remain very seriously interested in this ex-
citing project.
I am currently assembling a highly qualified development team
so that we may respond to the city's request in a complete and
thoroughly professional manner. However, it is taking longer
than was originally contemplated.
Accordingly, I respectfully request an extension of time to
meet the May 7th due date. Should such an extension be granted,
it would, of course, be applicable to all other interested parties.
Please advise me at your earliest convenience.
The week of April. loth, I will be in Miami to further work on the
Watson Island project, and will try to contact you then. Thank
you for your consideration of this matter.
