HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-84-0554J-84-398 4/18/84 rr/D-5 RESOLUTION NO. 84,554 A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTION 2 OF RESOLUTION NO. 84-63, ADOPTED JANUARY 19, 1984, W11TCH APPROVED THE SELECTION OF THREE LAND 5t1RVEY FIRMS TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR THE CITY AND DIRECTED THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENTS WITH THE THREE FIRMS, BY INCLUDING A FOURTH APPROVED FIRM. WHEREAS, on January 19, 1984, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 04-63 approving the selection by the Competitive Selection Committee of the three Lop rated land survey firms to provide services for the City and directing the City Manager to negotiate professional Service Agreements with each of the three firms; and WHEREAS, none of the top three rated firms is minority owned; and WHEREAS, the fourth rated firm is minority owned; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has determined it feasible to contract with four firms to provide land survey services on City construction projects; and WHEREAS, in the spirit of minority participation, it is in the City's best interest to include the fourth rated firm to provide land survey services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 2 of Resolution No. 84-63, adopted January 19, 1984, is hereby amended in the following particulars:l "Section 1. In the event that the City Manager cannot negotiate an agreement which in his opinion, is fair, competitive and reasonable, with any one or more of the first thFee four rank ordered firms, then he is hereby authorized to terminate such negotiations and to proceed to negotiate with the remaining firms in the order listed until fair, competitive and reasonable agreements have been reached with tapes four firms. On January 19, 1984 the City Commission adopted resolution no. 84-63 approving the selection by the Competitive Selection Committee of the three top rated land survey firms to provide services for the City and directing the City Manager to negotiate three Professional Services Agreements with the three firms. None of the top three rated firms is a minority owned company. However, the fourth rated firm is minority owned. The Public Works Department finds it feasible to contract with four firms to provide land survey services on City construction projects and in the spirit of minority participation proposes the amended resolution to include the fourth rated firm.
