approved by City Commission
Resolution 83-972 to include the
acquisition of additional land
adjacent to the Camillus House
Site presently occupied by the

Although Camillus House is not located within the Phase I
Redevelopment Area it was determined that the continued retention
of a rescue mission at this location would inhibit redevelopment op-
portunities within the area of major public investment ($30 million),
located within one block of the site.
The Property adjacent to Camillus House is currently available for
sale (presently occupied by The Studio of Lighting). This parcel
in conjunction with the site of Camillus House will create a .75
acre redevelopment site which could be offered for redevelopment
prior to Phase II of this project. It is anticipated that suffi-
cient funding will be available from the anticipated Section 108
Loan from H.U.D. Acquisition of this site would not be recommended
until the other parcels delineated in the original plan have been
acquired and adequate funding is assured.
