Box 330708 Miami, Florida .33133 Dear Nayor F-rre : May i begin by extending my very sincere thanks for taking time from your busy schedulF to meet with my friends and me on Tuesday, I -lay 15, 1.9814, As was disc?.r_,d that day, we would like your permission to secure a stickball playing field in the city of Niiarni. that our team can call. "home". As you know, we currently plan bail in the parking lot of Levitt, furniture store off the Palmetto Expressway. To say the least, it's a scgiie^]hat tenuous situation playing on privately-c%::ned property. At your sug, esti.on we visited th , tirea. ju;_t noel_h of the Grand Prix racing grounds. We liked what we saw, a:a it mec t_s our needs rnc:,t adequately. To be precise, we're referring to City of Iiirni. Interim Parking facility Igo. 24, just east of Biscayne boulevard bi-,tween i?.i:. Gth (i recut and N.E. 8th. Street. This site provides visibility (in ter:;is of attracting the general public to our games), as well as a clean and safe place in which to meet ai-id play. There is al o a one-roo-n bui.idinf-, at the south end of the parking lot which appears to be unuscd, end c•:ould male in i de it meeting room for our team. The lot would be usF i only on Sundays, and you may rest assured that we will keep the prcmi.,Ees clean of cinv debris. If our request for use of this site is granted, the issuance of a part; or police permit would greatly facilitate matters. On another note, we are procecdinz with Flans to journey to Ilew York City this coming Labor Day weekend to participate in the annual World Series of Stickball. Four cities will take part in the tournament Gliami, New York, Orlando, and San Juan), with crowds usually in the hundreds taking in the games. With your support, we intend to bring the winners' lst place trophy back to Miami, the site of the fall, 1985 Series. Your idea of an official proclamation announcing our team's visit to New York City this coming September is more than we ever hoped for. With your permission we will forward a 'draft' proclamation under separate cover for your review ar' approval comeii-crating this occasion. Your cooperation and enthusiasm in assisting us in this endeavor is great appreciated. Should you or your staff need to contact me, I can be reac during regular business hours at (305) 350-5090. Sincerely, } Frank D. I:ial Miami SticLbal.l, U.S.A. CC: Skip Chaves
