VbAdHASING AGENT TO ISSUE A 'PURCHASE ORDER
FOR THIS EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received April 23, 1984 for the furnishing of Two (2) Electronic
Control Units and Installation on Emergency Electric Generators
to the Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to 39 potential
suppliers and 2 bids were received; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1983-84 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by the Department
of Building and Vehicle Maintenance for the purpose of replacing
worn equipment with more efficient electronic units for the

prevention power disruption at the Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that
the bid received from Cummins Southeastern Power, Inc. be
accepted as the lowest responsible and responsive bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The April 23, 1984 bid of Cummins South-
eastern Power, Inc. for furnishing and installing Two (2) Elect-
tronic Control Units on Emergency Electric Generators at Police
Headquarters for the Department of Building and Vehicle Mainte-
nance at a total cost of $6,600.00 is hereby accepted with funds

Pursuant to the issuance of Bid 83-84-54, a total of two
(2) bids were received for the providing of two (2)
Generator Control units. The bid from Cummins South-
eastern Power, Inc. is the lowest responsible and respon-
sive bid and is, therefore, recommended, at a cost of
$6,600.00.
The installation of these control units will assist in
resolving the on -going emergency generator problems at
the Police Department and insure against failure when a
requirement to use the generators exists.
Funding for this purchase is available in FY 83-84 operating
budget of this Department.
