OPERATING BUDGET OF THAT DEPARTMENT; AUTHOR-
IZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE
PURCHASING,.AGENT TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR
THIS EQUIPMENT, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF
FUNDS.
WHEREAS, operations of the City's vehicle fleet
requires prompt and efficient repairs and maintenance on an
as needed basis; and
WHEREAS, a large number of these repairs necessitate
the use and supply of specific automotive parts only available
from the original vehicle manufacturers through their author-
4zed dealers; and
WHEREAS, there is a currently effective Metropolitan
Dade County Contract No. 9656 with the above listed supplies
for furnishing Genuine Original Equipment Manufacturers Automotive
Parts; and
WHEREAS, said County Contract was competitively bid
and awarded to dealer -supplies of Dodge, Chrysler -Plymouth,
American Motors, Ford, Mercury, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, GMC, and
Kawasaki car, truck and motorcyle parts at discounted pricing
ranging from dealer cost up to 25% off factory published price
lists; and

equipment will be used by the Department
of Building and 'Vehicle
Maintenance for the purpose of providing _
parts for the regular repair and.operation of City Vehicles; and
WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in the
1- 1983-84 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance recommend that the
purchase from the nine (9) supplies listed below be approved; '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the purchase of Original Equipment
Manufacturer Automotive Parts from nine (9) suppliers under a
currently effective Metropolitan Dade County Contract for the
Department of Building and Vehicle Maintenance, as follows:
Hollywood Chrysler -Plymouth, Inc. in the amount of $25,000.00,
Max Grosso Chrysler Plymouth in the amount of $3,000-00,Fincher

Motors, Inc. in the amount of $1,000.00, Palmetto Kawasaki, in
the amount of $2,000.00, Palmetto Ford Truck Sales, Inc. in the
amount of $5,000.00, Miami Lincoln Mercury in the amount of
$15,000.00, Figueredo Chevrolet, Inc. in the amount of $2,000.00,
L.A. Chevrolet, in the amount of $7,500.00, and Metro Ford, Inc.
in the amount of $5,000.00, at a total proposed cost of $65,000.00
is hereby approved with funds therefor hereby allocated from the
1983-84 Operating Budget of that Department.
