A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED $59000 FROM SPECIAL PROGRAMS AND
ACCOUNTS, QUALITY OF LIFE FUND, FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TICKETS TO THE MISS AFRO-
AMERICAN PAGEANT TO BE HELD JUNE 23,
1984; SAID ALLOCATION BEING CONDITIONED

UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLIANCE WITH CITY OF
MIAMI ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY NO. APM-1-840
DATED JANUARY 24, 1984.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No. 84-581 on May
24, 1984, expressed its intent to allocate $5,000 for the purchase
of 500 tickets to the Miss Afro-American Pageant to be held on
June 23, 1984;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $5,000 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life
Fund, for the purchase of 500 tickets to the Miss Afro-American
Pageant to be held on June 23, 1984.
Section 2. The herein allocation is hereby conditioned
upon substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative
Policy No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of June ,
1984.

Attached is a cover memorandum and legislation in connection with a
funding request from Miss Afro-American, Inc. The attached legislation
formalizes Motion 84-581 passed by the City Commission on May 24, 1984,
expressing their intent to allocate $5,000 for the purchase of 500 tickets
for the Miss Afro-American Beauty Pageant.
An agreement is not necessary. A Purchase Order will be issued for the
purchase of the 500 tickets.
It was requested by the City Manager's office that this item be placed
on the June 14 City Commission agenda.
This organization is a for -profit corporation and, therefore, does not
completely comply with APM-1-84.
