WHEREAS, the 1983 unitary tax lac:, adopted by the Florida
Legislature has a devastating effect upon the economy of the City
of Miami because of the concentration of international corpora-
tions that do business in the City who are required under said
Law to file a combined report of their related companies:
NOW, THEREFORE:, BE IT RESOLVED BY TILE COMMISSION OF TEE

CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Governor of Florida is hereby strongly
urged to convene the Legislature in Special Session immediately
for the purpose of amending if not repealing the 1983 unitary
tax law which presently requires a combined report of related
corporations to determine the amount of "business income".
Section 2. If no such Special Session is convened, the
issue of the amendment or repeal of said Law is requested to be
given the highest priority in the November, 1984, organizational
session of both the Florida Senate and the House of Representatives.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby directed to forraard
a copy of this Resolution to Governor Robert D. Graham.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 28th day of June, 1984.
