Once more I would like to thank you for the pledge of $10,000 in support from the City. Now that we have commenced implementation of our plans (see attachments), and the fact: that there is no City Commission meeting in August, it is necessary that I respectfully request that the pledge be presented for approval as one of your "pocket items" at the July 31, 1984 Commission meeting. The overall benefit of this activity to the City of Miami, is the potential to develop Africa as a "new" trading partner for Miami's import-export business community. Specifically, however, the initial objective is to secure commitments from several African countries, to establish permanent or honorary representation in the Miami area. This initial step is essential to the realization of meaningful opportunities for Miami's trading community. I shall be contacting you in the next day or so, to answer any questions you may have. I am r s " tf ly y s, William S.
