ALLOCATION.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Motion No 84-528, on
May 10, 1984, expressed their intention of supporting the Miami
Book Fair International with a $50,000 grant, providing Dade
County granted a matching share; and
WHEREAS, Miami Book. Fair International has since been
awarded a $50,000 grant by Dade County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. An amount not to exceed $50,000 is hereby
allocated from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality of Life
Fund, to the Miami Book. Fair International, Inc.
Section 2. The herein allocation is conditioned upon
substantial compliance with City of Miami Administrative Policy
No. APM-1-84, dated January 24, 1984.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of July , 1984.

Attached is the cover memorandum and resolution prepared by Parks
& Recreation in connection with the funding request: from nooks by
the Bay for $50,000 for the Miami Book Fair International to be
held in downtown Miami on November 8, 9, 10, 1984. The attached
legislation formalizes Motion 84-528, passed by the City
Commission on May 10, 1984, expressing its intent to allocate
$50,000 to this organization conditioned upon Dade County sharing
this expense. Dade County has already allocated $50,000 for this
event.
Funds are available from Special Programs and Accounts, Quality
of Life Fund.
This item has been reviewed by our Department, and if it meets
with your approval it may be placed on the July 30 agenda.
This allocation substantially complies with APM-1-84.

Life Fund, to the Miami Book
Fair International, formalizing
Motion No. 84-528, per the at-
tached resolution."
On May 10, 1984, the City Commission expressed their intent to
allocate $50,000 to the Miami Book Fair International by Motion
No. 84-528, contingent upon the organization receiving a like
amount from Dade County.
Dade County has awarded the Book Fair a $50,000 grant, therefore,
the Parks and Recreation Department recommends that $50,000 be
allocated by the City per the attached resolution.
Monies for this grant are available from Special Programs and
Accounts, Quality of Life Fund.
