Burglar Alarm System
ENCLOSURES: Two ( 2 )
"It is requested that the City
Commission approve the purchase
and installation of a burglar
alarm system for the Police
Department's SME-33 Simulator
Site at an amount not to exceed
four thousand doll-rs ($4,000);
and authorize the use of City of
Miami Law Enforcement Trust Fund
monies for this system as per the
attached resolution."
The City of Miami Commission approved a contract with September and
Associates East, Inc. for the purchase and development of a training
and educational simulator to enhance and develop the skills of law
enforcement personnel. The site for the SME-33 Simulator, which is
currently being remodeled, is the old fire station located at 2301
N.W. 23rd Street.
In order to provide adequate and necessary security to the site and
the simulator equipment housed therein, it is necessary to purchase
and install a burglar alarm system. Attached is a sketch for the
proposed system, as well as the specifications. These were prepared
by the Permits and Alarm Ordinance Unit, as required by the Citv_ of
Miami, based on a survey of the facility.
The funds for this alarm system are available within the Citv of Miami
Law Enforcement Trust Fund. Therefore, it is recommended that the
City Commission approve this request for $4,000 in order to provide
the required security for the SME-33 Simulator Site.
