A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID OF GREEN'S POOL
SERVICE, INC. IN THI, PROPOSED AMOUNT OF
$24, 700. 00, VASE BID OF TIME PROPO SAL., FOR

ALLOCATED FROM THE "SWJ-HHING POOL, RENOVATIONS"
ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF r24, 700. 00 TO COVER
THE CONTRACT COST; ALLOCATING FROiN SAID FUND
THE AMOUNT OF t3,500.00 TO COVER THE COST OF
PROJECT EXPENSE; ALLOCATING FROM SAID FUND THE
AMOUNT OF $500.00 TO COVER THE COST OF SUCH
ITEMS AS ADVERTISING, TESTING LABORATORIES AND
POSTAGE; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID FIRM
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received June 19, 1984, for
Edison Pool - Underdeck Pressure Piping Replacement - 1984; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of the
Department of Public Works recommend that the bid received from
Green's Pool Service, Inc. be accepted as the lowest responsible
and responsive bid; and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvements Appropriation ordinance
No. 9534, as amended, was adopted on December 9, 1982, and monies
are available for the proposed amount of the contract, project
expense, and incidentals from the account entitled "Swimming Pool
Renovations", as set forth under Section IX. B. ii .3, of said
ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The June 19, 1984, bid of Green's Pool
Service, Inc. in the proposed amount of $24,700.00, for the
project entitled Edison Pool - Underdeck Pressure Piping
Replacement - 1984, for the base bid of the proposal, based on
lump sum prices, is hereby accepted at the price stated therein.
Section 2. The amount of $24,700.00 is hereby allocated
from the account entitled "Swimming Pool Renovations" to cover
the cost of said contract.
Section 3. The additional amount of $3,500.00 is hereby
allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of project

Section 4 The additional, amount of $500.00 is hereby
allocated from the aforesaid fund to cover the cost of such
incidental items as advertising, testing laboratories, and
postage.
Section 5. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Miami. with
Green's Pool Service, Inc, for Ed.i_con Pool - Underdeck Pressure
Piping Replacement - 1984, base bid of the proposal.

a performance bond in accordance with Resolution No, H4--423.

All bids shall_ be submitted i_n accordance with the Instructions to
Bidders and Specifi-cations. The first set of plans and ,spoci.fica-
tions 7nay he obtained free from the office of the Director,
Department of Public 1%7orlcs, 275 N.W. 2 Street (4t.11 r1-oor) , Miami,
Florida, on or after Ilay 31, 1984. ildditi.onal_ sets may he obtained
for a $20 deposit for each set. Deposits will be refunded only
upon return of plans and spcificati.ons, unmarked and in rood
condition within ttao (2) %aeel:s after the opening of the bids.
Prospective bidders are alertcO to the provisions of Ordinance
No. 9775 regarding allocation of contracts to minority vendors.
Those minority or target area contractors/small businesses
interested in submitting bids are advised to contact. Contractors
Training and Development, Inc., 5800 N.W. 7 Avenue, Suite 212,
telephone (305) 754-4903, if they require assistance in preparing
their bid packages.
Proposal includes the time of performance, and specifications
contain provisions for liquidated damages for failure to complete
the work on time.
The City Commission reserves the right -to waive any informality in
any bid, and the City Manager may reject any or all bids, and

The work will consist of replacing the existing water supply lines
and fittings at the Edison Pool located at 525 N.W, 62 Street.
The engineer's estimate for this project is $40, 000. New require-
ments will allow th successful_ lots bidder to bypass the need for
a performance bond in accordance with Resolution No. 84-423.

The Department of Public Works has
determined a low bidder for the Edison
Pool - Underdeck Pressure Piping
Replacement - 1984. The proposed attached
resolution accepts the bid received June 19,
1984 of Green's Pool Service, Inc. in the
amount of $24,700.00, and authorizes the
City Manager to enter into a contract on
behalf of the City.
Bids were received June 19, 1984 for Edison Pool - Underdeck
Pressure Piping Replacement - 1984.
As reflected in the tabulation of bids, the $24,700.00 bid
of Green's Pool Service, Inc. is the lowest responsible bid
for the total bid of the proposal.
_ Funds have been allocated under the "Swimming Pool
Renovations" account, and monies are available for the
estimated amount of the contract, for project expense, for
such items as advertising, testing labcratorios, and
postage.
Ten contractors picked up plans and specifications (minority
contractors: 1 hispanic, 2 black); 2 contractors submitted
bids (minority contractors: 0 hispanic 0 black ). The
engineers estimate was $35,000.
