A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED WORK OF
L.G.H. CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION FOR CONSTRUC-
TION OF COCONUT GROVE T,VT_TTRTTTnN CENTER - WEST
COURTYARD ROOF (2I,I1) RTDDTNG) AT A TOTAL COST
OF $870, 11.3. 2.4 AS` ESSING S8, 500 AS TJQUTDATED
DAMAGES FOR 17 DAYS OVERRUN ON CONTRACT TIME
AND AUTHORIZING A FINAT, PAYMENT OF 1' 78,511.32.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated January 21, 1983,
between the City of Miami, Florida and L.G.H. Construction Corporation
for Coconut Grove Exhibition Center - West Courtyard Roof (2nd Bidding);
and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed and
L.G.H. Construction Corporation has furnished the required documents
certifying that all bills for labor and material have been paid in full
in connection with the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, liquidated damages for 17 days overrun of contract
time should be deducted from the final payment due to L.G.H. Construction
Corporation; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Directors of the Depart-
ment of Public Works and Office of Auditoriums recommend the completed
work be accepted and final payment be made to L.G.H. Construction
Corporation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by L.G.H.
Construction Corporation for the construction of Coconut Grove Exhibition
Center - West Courtyard Roof (2nd Bidding) is hereby accepted at a
total cost of $870,113.24.
Section 2. Liquidated damages in the amount of $8,500
for 17 days overrun of the contract amount shall be deducted from the
balance due L.G.H. Construction Corporation.

Section 3. The proper officials of the City of Miami,
Florida are hereby authorized to pay L.G.H. Construction Corp., after
all adjustments are made, a balance of $78,511.32 as full and final
payment for all work performed and all materials furnished in connection
with the said project.

The Department of Public Works and the Office
of Auditoriums recommend the adoption of the
resolution accepting the completed work, assessing
liquidated damages in the amount of $8,500 and
authorizing- a final payment of $78,511.32 for
COCONUT GROVE EXHIBITION CENTER - WEST COURTYARD
ROOF (2ND BIDDING)
L.G.H. Construction Corp. has completed the project of enclosing
the West Courtyard of the Coconut Grove Exhibition Center with
30' high walls including windows, built up roof,air conditioning,
lighting,power cord drops, folding power doors and a synthetic
plastered exterior wall system. The contract amount was for
$876,727.00 including a $25,000 increase in contract amount
authorized by Commission Resolution 484-290 dated March 8, 1984.
The Sources of Funds are Federal Revenue Sharing, Fiscal Year
1982 Fund Balance and F.P.L. Franchise Revenues.
There was an overrun of the contract time by 17 calendar days.
It is recommended that liquidated damages at the rate of $500.00
per calendar day, as specified by the Contract, be assessed for
the 17 day overrun for a total amount of $8,50C.00
It is now in order for the Commission to accept the completed
work, assess liquidated damages in the amount of $8,500.00 and
authorize final payment, after all conditions are met.
